Late Baseball Legend Stan Musial’s St. Louis Home Sold for $1.6 Million

Stan Musial, the late baseball legend's St. Louis home has reportedly sold for $1.6 million. First hitting the listing market in March for $1.8 million, the residence has traded for a little under the asking price.

According to Realtor.com, the home sold sometime back in July.

The home is a 5286 square feet home sitting on a plush three acre lot. Built in 1962, the house has four bedrooms and five full and two half bathrooms. Living spaces include a living room, a dining room, a pantry/ bar, a breakfast area, a sunroom, a library, a den and a recreation room too. Outside, the home has open patios and porches, a pool with a pool house and ample parking space.

The listing of the home read:

Musial passed away in January 2013 at the age of 92. While his home has already sold, fans who are looking to lay their hands on some Musial memorabilia can head over to St. Louis where the baseball legend's family is auctioning items he gathered throughout his life, reports St. Louis Post Today.

Last date of the auction is November 8 and some of the items being bid for are (list courtesy St. Louis Post Today):

* A baseball signed by Babe Ruth for Musial when he was still in the minor leagues

* A handwritten letter from baseball great Ty Cobb

* More than 2,000 of Musial's canceled checks;

* The old ballplayer's old golf clubs; his old books; and his old pants, sweaters and neckties.

* The diamond-encrusted 2006 and 2011 World Series rings given to him by the Cardinals.

* His personal wallet.
