John McEnroe Net Worth: Tennis Legend Purchases Third Malibu Mansion

Tennis superstar John McEnroe, former World No.1 and winner of seven Grand Slam titles during the 1980s, has recently purchased another Malibu mansion, Variety reports. The tennis legend and his wife, musician Patty Smyth, made a real estate purchase in the same location back in 2013 -- a $3.35 million California ranch-style home off the Pacific Coast Highway.

According to the Northwest Herald, the new McEnroe home is an ultra-modern abode built in 1994 and features multiple levels, with the interiors redesigned by the renowned interior master Michael Lee. Variety shared that the 1994-mansion sits inside an exclusive gated community in the the coveted Paradise Cove, one of Malibu's most in-demand and very exclusive areas.

Designed by architect Steven Ehrlich, McEnroe's Malibu 6,500-square-foot home features s four ocean-view bedrooms and four full and three half bathrooms. The exteriors flaunt vast expanses of angled and tinted glass. Access to the house's multiple levels is made easy with an elevator. Other features include a compact but very high-end kitchen, a built-in bar and glass sliders that ushers residents and guests to a beachside dining terrace, a massive family room at the lowest levels, a library/office, and walk-in wine cellar.

A number of celebrities also resides in the same gated enclave. McEnroe's big-shot neighbors include country music icons Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood as well as Jon Burton, a game developer and producer of "The Lego Movie".

The tennis legend, also known for his hot temper and fiery demeanor on and off the court, is a familiar face in the Malibu real estate scene. He once bought a property on Carbon Beach from Johnny Carson and still owns a house in the Colony enclave that he once shared with his first wife, Tatum O'Neal.

Other real estate properties McEnroe owns is an estate in the luxurious Hamptons, which he bought in 1999 for $4.2 million.
