iPad Air 3 2016 Release Rumors: Most Powerful Tablet Yet Features 401PPI Resolution, 2GB, 4GB RAM, IPX7 Waterproof, Dustproof Certified; Smaller Battery Means Less Power Cap?

iPad Air 3 is gearing up for a March 2016 release.

iPad Air 3 will be, so far, the most powerful tablet to be released by Apple. The said tablet was not released this year to give way to its bigger brother, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

iPad Air 3, the soon-to-be released Apple device, will still have the same display size with a 9.7-inch, but it will have an upgraded resolution of 2334 x 3112 pixels and 401 ppi, similar to the iPhone 6S. It will also be thinner at 6.1 mm thick, which results to a smaller battery pack with less capacity than its predecessor, which was at 7,340 mAH. An A9 or A9X processor will be powering the new tablet, and it will have up to 128GB additional storage, though it would not want to surpass the iPad Pro, IT Pro reported.

iPad Air 3 news also include info about the new tablet possibly being IPX7 waterproof certified. Some reports also indicate that it may well be dustproof.

Aside from being thinner, it will also be lighter than the iPad Pro 2016. Some speculations include a 2K resolution capable of displaying in 3D. Memory is pegged at either 2GB or 4GB RAM. It is also said that several variants will also be available and will come with 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage options, Latino Post reported.

For iPad Air 3's image snapper, it is rumored to have an 8MP rear facing camera while the front will have a 2.1 megapixel camera, suited for selfies and video conferences. The forthcoming iPad Air 3 is said to start at £399, but will increase depending on the variant.

The iPad Air 3's manufacturer has not confirmed or denied any of the specs rumors. Apple has not mentioned anything yet with regards to the iPad Air 3 release date.
