Roger Federer, the tennis titan, may have lost the Basel Indoor Tournament and forgone some luster on the court, but he has been quite the property player. When it comes to real estate, Federer is aloof albeit a luxury-loving man.
According to the Real Estalker, Federer recently invested in a prime parcel of land in his hometown, Switzerland, for $32.4 million in late 2011. The lot is a little larger than 1.4 acres and is located in the posh lakeside community of Herrliberg.
No official news about what Federer wants to do with lot. However, a source whispered to the Real Estalker that an architecture firm has been roped in to build a modern three-story home for the Federer family!
Apart from the aforementioned property, Federer has numerous homes in Switzerland, a vacation home in Dubai, a terrace apartment in the lake Zurich village of Wollerau and also two conjoined cottages in Valbella, of which one is for him and the other is for his parents. Apparently, the two homes are connected via an underground passage.
Interiors of Federer's modern house apparently have a glass facade. It could look like the one featured in the Nike ad where he is seen swatting a fly. He attempts some of his savviest moves to try and smack the fly with a tennis ball first, a remote then but finally manages to do it with the Nike Free sneaker!

Meanwhile, Federer is improving on-field. He has had a lack-luster season in his hometown indoor tournament. On Sunday, he reached his first final in more than 4 months but was defeated by Juan Martin del Potro who won 7-6 (3), 2-6, 6-4. However, Federer has earned himself an entry into the ATP World Tour Finals slated to start Nov. 4 in London, reports Fox News.
