Game developer Blizzard Entertainment announced that "Warcraft" movie trailer will be released on Nov. 6. The release of the most-awaited trailer coincides with the company's annual BlizzCon event, a report from Gamespot said.
According to the report, Blizzard Entertainment has also released a new movie poster for the upcoming film. The movie poster shows a "Horde vs. Alliance" theme and characters such as Durotan (Toby Kebbel) and Lothar (Travis Fimmel). The film's poster tagline reads, "Two Worlds. One Home."
"Fighting for The Alliance, Warcraft features Dominic Cooper as King Llane Wrynn, Travis Fimmel as Anduin Lothar, Ben Foster as Medivh, Ben Schnetzer as Khadgar, and Ruth Negga as Lady Taria, and on the side of The Horde is Clancy Brown as Blackhand, Toby Kebbel as Durotan, Robert Kazinsky as Ogrim, and Daniel Wu as Gul'Dan, with Paula Patton's Garona caught in the middle," Coming Soon said.
It was said that the "Warcraft" movie will officially debut in theaters on June 10 next year. The movie is directed by "Moon" and "Source Code" director Duncan Jones, who is the son of singer David Bowie.
"The Warcraft movie screenplay, as crafted by Jones and Charles Levitt (Blood Diamond, Seventh Son), draws heavily from the storyline for the 1994 game Warcraft: Orcs & Humans and revolves around the war between two factions in the movie's fantasy setting: The Alliance (humans) and The Horde (orcs). Warcraft has thus been described as a tentpole that resembles the 2014 sequel, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, in the way that it uses genre tropes (here, swords and sorcery) to explore a timely narrative and themes about warring tribes residing in the same place - something referenced by the film's poster tagline, 'Two Worlds. One Home,' Screen Rant said.
Meanwhile, Gamespot said that BlizzCon 2015 will be held at Anaheim Convention Center and will run from Nov. 6 until Nov. 7.
"Physical tickets for BlizzCon 2015 are sold out, but you can still buy a $40 virtual ticket, which includes access to the event's various panels and even the closing concert from Linkin Park," the report said.
