The sci-fi series "The 100" is set to return in early 2016 for its Season 3, but as early as now, showrunner Jason Rothenberg has been dropping hints about the show's storylines next season. Recently, Rothenberg teased a Clarke and Murphy storyline through a tweet, while some reports claim that how the Grounders survived the nuclear attack will be explained in the show's upcoming third season.
According to Melty, Rothenberg recently tweeted a teaser on Season 3 of "The 100."
"(NOT-SO) DAILY DAILIES: The Blakes wreck me ... Again. Goodbye new friend. And... Clurphy! #the100," Rothenberg wrote.
Melty speculates that the first part of the tweet refers to the siblings Bellamy and Octavia Blake, and the site mentioned that it was previously reported that Octavia will have "some badass ninja moves" while Bellamy will be "a force of nature" in the new season. Meanwhile, the "goodbye to a new friend" part reportedly hints a death of a new character, which could either be Pike (Michael Beach) or Roan (Zach McGowan), according to Melty.
Finally, the Clurphy part reportedly hints that Clarke may end up meeting Murphy again in Season 3. The site deems it impossible for the two to have a romantic relationship, but Rothenberg tweets could allegedly mean that Clarke may manage to end up in the City of Light with Murphy and Jaha.
Meanwhile, Vine Report stated that the Grounders will be featured in Season 3 of "The 100," along with Ice Nation, which will be ruled by Queen Nia, one of the Grounders. The character is described as "ruthless and savvy," and she will reportedly do anything against anyone, even the closest to her, to keep her throne.
According to the report, the show's supervising producer Aaron Ginsburg also teased in his Tumblr account how the Grounders survived the nuclear attack, as he wrote: "The Mountain Men survived beneath the surface, the Sky People survived up in space, and the Grounders... well, the Grounders found a way to ride out the radiation and persevere. We haven't discussed 'how,' specifically, but they were likely not directly near a blast-area (or far enough from the worst of the radiation) and trust me, their lives are short and brutal. It's a miracle so many of them made it..."
The specific details on the Grounders' survival are reportedly expected to be featured in the show's third season.
"The 100" Season 3 has no definite premiere date yet, but it is expected to debut in early 2016.
