Lifetime is producing the third installment of the dance drama "Center Stage" titled "Center Stage: Dance Camp" and has cast Chloe Lukasiak as a new dancer. Actors from the first two films are also returning.
The first "Center Stage," directed by Nicholas Hytner, was shown in 2000. It follows a group of young dancers from all sorts of background, vying to get a spot in the fictitious American Ballet Academy, and how they deal with the hardships and challenges of the training. It was followed by "Center Stage: Turn It Up" in 2008.
Peter Gallagher is reprising his role as Jonathan Reeves. According to Mashable, in the "Center Stage: Dance Camp," Jonathan Reeves is tasked to modernized the Academy. With the help of his best choreographers, Charlie (Sascha Radestsky), Cooper (Ethan Stiefel) and Tommy (Kenny Wormald), he recruits dancers. They will compete at a camp and the winner will be given a spot in the Academy. Chloe will play as a dance prodigy.
Radestsky and Stiefel are all part of the original "Center Stage" cast, while Wormald is from "Center Stage: Turn It Up." According to Deadline, Nicole Muñoz is also returning from the sequel and will play as another recruit dancers, Bella Parker, getting the chance to step out of her successful sister's shadow.
"Center Stage: Dance Camp" is the first movie of Chloe Lukasiak. She posted on her Twitter that she was so excited to announce that she will be part of the movie. Before that, she posted a photo, saying, "Got pretty lucky with this cast #goodtimes #goodpeople."
"Center Stage: Dance Camp" has Director X (Julien Christian Lutz) at the helm and Laurence Mark as the executive producer. Mark was also the producer behind "Center Stage" and "Center Stage: Turn It Up." "Center Stage: Dance Camp" is written by Nisha Ganatra and produced by Vicki Sotheran and Greg Malcom.
The production is currently ongoing and there is no schedule of the premiere yet.
