“Fast and Furious 8” is set to be filmed but apparently, it is hard to fill the void that Paul Walker left for his character, Brian O’ Connor. But with the comeback of Mia Toretto, it is impossible not to bring back Paul Walker once again, Movie News Guide reported.
“Fast and Furious 8” is the first of the upcoming trilogy and eighth installment of “Fast and Furious” franchise that is set to debut a part of Brian O’Connor which is needed for the secluded storyline in the return of Mia Toretto.
“Should Jordana reprise her role, Paul Walker’s character may also come back and possibly with the use of CGI,” Australian News Network wrote. Jordana Brewster plays the role of Mia Toretto who expressed her excitement to join the film.
“I don’t know [if I’d do another film], but it’s always dependent on the fans," Brewster said according to Bustle. "If they want one and if there’s an appetite for it. We never want to jump the shark!”
The comeback of Mia Toretto's character to the film is part of the new trilogy's need for a new strong character apart from Dominic Toretto. Dom's character will also need Brian O'Connor as well which is one thing that the producers and creators consider as a huge challenge, especially that the plot will be very character centric.
“Unfortunately, we don’t have Paul anymore. His character… has moved on. But we feel like there’s a lot still to be mined. That’s where we’re starting. We’re really talking about the characters, where they all sit right now. It’s a huge challenge,” Producer Neal H. Moritz said according to KpopStarz.
Meanwhile, since they are planning to work on Paul Walker's character on CGI, it is rumored that his brother Cody Walker will no longer be part of the franchise. It was noted that his name was not included on the stars list of “Furious 8” IMDb official page while Michelle Rodriguez was added to the list.
“Fast and Furious 8” directed by F. Gary Gray will be filmed in New York City for the first time and will be released on Apr. 14, 2017.
