The Addams Family Home in Color Looks Far from the Spooky Mansion it Appeared to be

"They're creepy and they're kooky, Mysterious and spooky, they're all together ooky, The Addams Family." Ta da da dum...snap snap!

Who can ever forget the adorable 'macabre' family who never realized why people were scared of them! The eerily beautiful Morticia, the cute Pugsley, the hilarious Grandmamma, Gomez, Wednesday, Uncle Fester, the tall Lurch and the very useful 'Thing' (the hand) made up the crazy family. Each character was etched perfectly to resemble any other average American family, but with a twist!

Though the characters were all interesting, the home they lived in was a character in its own. Portrayed in the sixties series in Greyscale, the home looked quite spooky, adding essence to the family's esoteric nature.

However, if you ever took a look at the real sets of the Addams Family house, it wouldn't scare you so much! The irony would, in fact, amuse you a little!

Daily Sundial has two shots of the 'Addams Family' set taken by late photographer, Richard Fish. His widow recently donated his collection to California's Oviatt Library which has set up his work on display.

The publication writes:

The images from the Addams Family show can be seen while taking the escalator from the second floor to the first floor. It has images of the different sets and characters from the black-and-white TV show. This assignment for TV Guide magazine allowed the public to see the show in color for the first time.

The interiors of the home looks like a doll-house version of the home featured in the series. Clad in pink and white, the torture room doesn't look that 'torturous', although the decor could freak you out a little. The pictures are a little too 'cheerful' for the glum Addams Family home that we would expect, reports Curbed.

After a long gap of the series' end in 1966, Addams Family returned to the screen in an animated version in 1992, which ran until 1995. Since then, there have been several musicals, games, books, and Broadway shows of the 'ooky' family.

Recently, on Halloween's day, Variety revealed that MGM will be bringing back the Addams' on the big screen in an animated movie version soon.

So we are going to 'get a witches shawl on, a broomstick we can crawl on, we're gonna pay a call on The Addams Family.'

Ta da da dum...snap snap!
