'Scandal' Olivia Pope Apartment: Learn How To Design Your Home Similar to Olivia's

If you are a fan of "Scandal" and dying over Olivia Pope, then you will want to hear from the woman who's responsible for the popular character's chic apartment - Amy Wells!

Wells is also the set decorator extraordinaire behind Cher Horowitz's dream closet in Clueless, and she exclusively shared to Hollywood Life tips on how you can make your home look as amazing as her most recent project with Kerry Washington's character in the hit ABC TV series.

How do you make a space look very much like Olivia Pope's?

"Lots of white, and light, ethereal colors. I also gave her that blue chair, because I felt like she needed just one piece of accent furniture that really popped - and of course, wine glasses!" Wells shared.

What's the concept behind the character's space?

According to Wells, she was able to put a concept together after reading the show's script. She tried to envision the character, the places it's been to, the personality, and how she thinks the character would curate the space. Olivia is a strong and independent character with killer style; and her home had to reflect her lifestyle.

What are the best accent pieces if you want to re-glam your home space for less?

When creating accent pieces for a space, Wells recommends to begin with pieces that you already have, especially those that have meaning to you. Creating vignettes composed of interesting things from your past and building it up with newer pieces like those that you can find in HomeGoods. She also talked about following the rule of threes or one standalone piece when putting pieces together.

What are the right and wrong ways to mix prints and colors?

Olivia's space is done to the nines when it comes to mixing colors and patterns, and it shows Wells obsessions with mixing and matching. One trick according to her is to lay out all the prints and have a really good "look" at how they all come together. She warns of mixing white and off-white backgrounds which is one that sets her mismatch alarm!

If your significant other is moving in, how can you reimagine a space without totally scrapping your fave feminine accents - and without turning it into a complete man cave?

When it comes to sharing a space with your significant other, Wells' magic word is compromise. Maybe you need to kiss those pink florals goodbye, while finding a common medium that the both of you can be comfortable with. She mentions sticking to neutrals and also hearing your man's décor opinions as you may get surprised with what he has up his sleeves.
