Actress Cameron Diaz is selling her two-bedroom Manhattan apartment for $4.25 million. The listing, posted on Warburg Realty, describes the home is "a jewel box," which features a modern design based on old Hollywood glamour.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Diaz bought the property back in 2008 for $2.95 million and enlisted acclaimed interior designer Kelly Wearstler to conduct a massive renovation. Wearstler transformed the 1,400 square feet space to suit its Hollywood A-lister owner, incorporating a gold and glass theme with custom-made fixtures.
The apartment opens up to an oversized foyer with a 14-foot-long closet, made of onyx plaster, creating a warm and dramatic entrance. It leads up to the dining room, which features vintage light fixtures and mirrors.
The living room has custom-made antique rose gold wallpaper. Large windows allow natural sunlight to come in, and the ceiling incorporates architectural beams to add sophistication to the space. It also has its own wood-burning fireplace and custom-built cabinets.
The kitchen, decked with gold accents, takes on an emerald green finish. As if it needed more drama, the back splash, countertops, and sink fittings are made of brass. It comes with top-of-the-line appliances, including a Sub-Zero refrigerator, Viking range and hood, and built-in water filtration system.
The highlight of the apartment's splendor is its master suite. The walls are covered with handmade wallpaper in ivory, giving the room a chic but warm ambiance. The king-size bed is encased in a golden metal frame, while the ceiling is accentuated by hand-stenciled designs.
It connects to a dressing room lined with tall cabinets in black onyx and mirrors. It leads to the excessively decadent master bath, with glass tiles, marble counters, and brass-trimmed mirrors.
The spare bedroom takes after the grandiose appeal of the master, with similar wallpaper and hand-painted ceilings. The guest bath also has the same decadence, with pink onyx tiles and golden accents.
In addition, the apartment is decked with electronic black-out shades and touch control lighting.
According to its listing agent, Rebecca Edwarson, the furniture isn't included in the $4.25 million asking price, but its celebrity owner is willing to sell for an additional fee.
