MLB power hitter, Jim Thome has finally sold his home in Hinsdale, Illinois residence for $2.6 million, according to some media reports.
Thome first listed the home in March 2012 for $3.8 million. He flipped it on the market for the same price that he had purchased it for in 2008. After two price-choppers and more than a year, the residence has finally sold for the aforementioned price, reports Realtor.com.
According to the listing records, the residence is a 6783 square feet, single family residence, sitting on a large private lot. Comprising of six bedrooms, seven full and one half bathroom, the two-story home has hardwood flooring and French doors and windows.
Living spaces include a large living room, a family room, a sitting room, a theatre, a gym, and a library and bonus room. An enclosed balcony and foyer are some of its other additional features. Outside, the house has a three-car garage, a large patio and a garden area. An open fireplace is a special feature of the property.

Thome also owns a large property in Burr Ridge, Illinois. He purchased this seven bed-seven bath house for $4.6 million when he flipped the Hinsdale mansion in 2012, reports Chicago Real Estate Daily.
Thome won the Silver Slugger award in 2006 when he was with the Chicago White Sox. He is best known for his hard hits and for scoring the maximum number of home runs. In 2011, he was ranked eighth for hitting 600 home runs. He last played with the Baltimore Orioles in 2012 and signed up as a free agent at the end of the season.
