'Alcatel GO Watch' Review, Specs, Features: Simple Wearable With Water Resistant Build And Long Battery Life

Announced and released September 2015, the "Alcatel GO Watch" is yet another smartwatch that wants to join this years' smartwatch fad. We have seen tens of new wearables being announced and released this year and it seems like these new devices are pretty much imitation of one another, which actually marks the companies' undeniable competition and their ambition to improve from the previous years' dinosaur smartwatches. Well, the similarities of the new smartwatches are actually limited to what's inside them. From the outside, these new wearables like the "Alcatel GO Watch" all have unique and iconic designs that separate them from their rivals.

Here is a quick spec summary of what the "Alcatel GO Watch" has to offer:

First of all, the "Alcatel GO Watch" has no data connectivity, 2G or 3G whatsoever. Like most smartphones, it has no cellular connectivity. Designwise, it actually looks really good. It resembles an actual watch rather than a tiny smartphone with a wristband. Its round and sturdy looking form allows for better blending as you wear anything and do your daily activities.

The "Alcatel GO Watch" has a dimension of 50.5 x 50.5 x 13mm and it is IP67 certified to be dust and water resistant (1 meter and 30 minutes). It has a 1.22 inches screen with a pixel resolution of 240 x 204 and a pixel per inch density of 258. It has a Proprietary OS, Bluetooth support, and microUSB connection. Its sensor features include the accelerometer, altimeter, gyro, heart rate, and compass. It also has messaging features such as SMS, MMS, Email, and IM. There is also an MP3 player, photo viewer, and voice memo/dial/ commands.

The wearable comes with a non removable Li Ion 225 mAh battery and it can last around 48 - 120 hours. There are a bunch of color options to choose from which includes White, White/Dark Blue, White/Pink Red, White/Blue, White/Orange, White/Lime Green and Blue.

As a conclusion,  the "Alcatel GO Watch" isn't your luxurious wearable with data connection, camera, or internal storage, which results to contradicting opinions towards the device's purpose. Some say that it may not have much use to it, and there are also some that say that the "Alcatel GO Watch" is a simple but effective smartwatch that doesn't have lots of perks that come with it but still remains functional and can last up to three days on one charging.
