The five emotions from Disney- Pixar's "Inside Out" did manage to make us cry as it hit the big screen just this year. Though Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, and Anger may be a bunch of emotions that can make Riley lose her mind at times, but as per the Independent website, there are several emotions that were about to make the cut.
As per the website, before finalizing the five cast characters, there were 26 emotions that should have been involved in making Riley's life a bit chaotic. The website was able to enlist the rest of the characters which were not able to make it - Pride, Irritation, Greed, Shame, Love, Gloom, Ennui (which is dissatisfaction), Hope, and the most complicated Schadenfreude (which is said to be a feeling of taking pleasure upon seeing others struggle or suffer).
During an interview which can be viewed in "Inside Out" Blu-ray DVD edition, the film director, Pete Docter shared some details regarding the film. Docter shared that they originally intend to name the characters differently by giving it human names, but they figured it would be more confusing.
"We were very opposed to calling them by their emotion, we thought we were being very clever and not so on the nose. That ended up being more confusing than it was worth, so I was wrong on that one."
Aside from the additional characters, Entertainment Weekly also shared that Bing Bong (Riley's imaginary friend who helped Joy make her way out of the pit) was supposed to be "sadder." What could possibly be more tragic that the part when he gave up his existence to help Joy?
During an interview with MTV News, Richard King [who voiced Bing Bong) stated that Bing Bong's death could have been more tragic,
"It was absolutely heart breaking, when he finally extends his hand and says 'I've got a good feeling about this,' you had seen a lot more of him during that original scene so that when they're trying and trying and trying to get back, you understand what he's going through," said Kind. "You see him get a little desperate. It was a lot sadder."
