Carly Simon, the "You're So Vain" hit maker has finally sold her New York City duplex pied-a-terre for $2.3 million after numerous price-chops and some considerable time on the listing market, according to some reports.
Simon's home first came on the market with an asking price of $3.8 million in 2008. However, sitting unclaimed, the house was taken off the market before re-appearing in 2010 with a new asking price of $2.9 million. Failing to sell even then, she price chopped the home in April 2012 asking for $2.7 million.
In July, she brought it down to $2.4 million before taking it off the market. It reappeared with a $2.4 million price tag in February, 2013. Somewhere between the months, the cost was cut down to the $2.3 million which it eventually sold for.
According to the Real Estalker, Simon had purchased the place back in 2004 for $1.2 million. The two bedroom, two bathroom duplex is an old townhouse style residence. The lower level features a spacious living room, a large bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom. A laundry and a closet room also exist on the lower level. The upper level has a huge den, another big bedroom, a bathroom and a dressing area as well.

Currently, Simon lives at her Martha's Vineyard residence in Massachusetts that she received as part of the divorce deal when she separated from husband James Taylor in 1983.
Simon, the Grammy, Oscar and Golden Globe award winner was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1994. Simons last performed at the Oceana Partners Award Gala in Beverly Hills that was held Oct.30. The singer shares a special bond with country singer, Taylor Swift. Both of them wrote 'break-up' songs in their own eras that topped charts. In July, Swift and Simon sang 'You're so Vain' in a duet at a Massachusetts concert, a part of the former's 'Red' tour. Simon also congratulated Swift on winning the 'Pinnacle Award' at the recent Country Music Awards (CMA).
