“Downton Abbey” is nearly reaching its finale with one episode left and an annual Christmas special.
On episode 7, the Crawleys will head for the Brooklands racing track where Henry Talbot (Matthew Goode) is racing. Mary (Michelle Dockery) and her family were invited to watch. But during the race, Talbot’s teammate and good friend Charlie Rogers (Sebastian Dunn) will encounter a fatal crash. The incident broke Henry's heart which also brought back painful memories and made him decide not to stay with Mary.
On a lighter side, Edith (Laura Carmichael) received a proposal from Bertie Pelham (Harry Hadden-Paton) but rejected the proposal because she wants to be completely honest with him before marrying him. She still wasn't able to tell him about who Marigold really is.
Lord Grantham (Hugh Bonneville) received a new puppy from Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith) which is his mother's goodbye gift as she sails to the South of France. But before she left, she would talk to Larry Grey’s (Charlie Anson) fiancee Amelia Cruikshank (Phoebe Sparrow) about her suspicious friendship with Isobel (Penelope Wilton), Zap2it reported.
As for Andy (Michael Fox), his secret comes out while Mrs. Patmore (Lesley Nicol) and Mr. Carson (Jim Carter) are speculating that something is going on between him and Thomas (Rob James-Collier). Molesley (Kevin Doyle) was offered a job at the village school after he passed the exam with flying colors.
Meanwhile, actress Lily James who plays Lady Rose Aldridge will be returning to Downton Abbey for the Christmas special.
"It was amazing going back after a break. You are just totally re-inspired by the wonder of it, that grand house against grey skies and all the friends you haven't seen in so long," James said, according to Mirror.
"I have such happy, positive memories and a sense of accomplishment about being on the show. I don't know if I'd be sitting here if it weren't for Downton. It would have all been very different," she added referring to how she was chosen to play the role of Cinderella.
The sixth and final series of Downton Abbey will air on Sunday November 8 at 9pm on ITV and will be returning for the Christmas special.
