Forbes magazine has identified the Top 10 highest-paid ladies in the musical scene.
Hanging onto the last spot is Rihanna, who has not released a full-length album in a long time. RiRi has only made $26 million this year. But Forbes predicts that she would change this once she releases her most anticipated album "Anti."
On the 8th and 9th spot is country sweet heart Miranda Lambert and the timeless diva Mariah Carey, with $28.5 million and $27 million, respectively. Jennifer Lopez is on Top 7 after having had only 5 concerts, aside from her "American Idol" gig.
Britney Spears whose profit generally comes from her Planet Hollywood residence as well as her lingerie line, made $31 million this year. This is very far from Beyonce's earnings of $54.5 million after her "On the Run" tour with main squeeze Jay-Z.
Lady Gaga takes the 4th spot, having earned $59 million from her shows, as well as from her deals with high-profile companies like Varsace and MAC. Top 3 goes to the band Fleetwood Mac. While the band has three men, it includes two very powerful women which contributed to the success of the 86 concerts that they held during Forbes' scoring period.
One would assume that Taylor Swift would land the top spot for the most paid female artists. Her last album "1989" has earned a whopping $3.6 million and still counting. She had sold out world tours with an average of $4 million per city, which all contributed to her $80 million earnings this year. Unfortunately, her nemesis Katy Perry earned more than she did.
The 'California girl' beat the "Bad Blood" singer by $55 million. According to Forbes, Katy's earnings are mostly from her Prismatic World Tour. She has had over 126 shows with an average of $2 million per city. Her gross earnings for 2015 would total to $135 million.
In her Forbes' interview on the Celebrity 100 cover story, Katy said, "I'm an entrepreneur. I don't want to shy away from it. I actually want to kind of grab it by its balls."
