Frank Sinatra’s Long Island Penthouse Gets a Pricechop and Some Furniture; Now Asking $5.59 Million

The Long Island penthouse of the 'Sultan of Swoon', Frank Sinatra, has reappeared on the market, this time with a price chop and fully furnished, according to some media reports. The place is now asking $5.59 million.

The penthouse in The Edgewater building at 530 East 72nd Street, Upper East Side, first came on the listing market with a $7.7 million price tag back in August 2012. Sinatra helped design the place and lived in the home from 1961 to 1972, reports Curbed.

However, looks like the 'jazz factor' was missing as the residence found no takers then. The listing was taken down but has resurfaced now with a reduced price tag and with furniture.

According to the listing records at Douglas Elliman, the residence is a 3200 square feet, four bed, four and a half bath home. One of its striking features is the glass staircase, which are 'apparently' the same ones Apple uses in its stores!

Excerpts from the listing description:

This sprawling, 3,200 sq ft (*appx.) four bedroom, four bathroom, two half-bathroom co-op with two wraparound terraces (totaling approximately 2,000 sq ft) has a storied history. Frank Sinatra was the original owner and helped to design the three story triplex, with floor-to-ceiling windows that capture breath-taking views of the East River from every room.

Located on the very sought after 72nd Street", the Edgewater is a premier white glove building. It offers residents 24/7 doorman and concierge service and a live-in super. Located in an exclusive cul-de-sac, the building is near Carl Schurz Park and Asphalt Green and within walking distance of bus and subway lines and numerous amenities.

Another Californian retreat of the "Fly me to the Moon" crooner is also up for grabs. The place is asking $3.9 million. Check out that home, here.
