The ninth overall pick of the 2010 NBA Draft is making smart choices with his money, observers said. Gordon Hayward of the Utah Jazz has recently acquired a gated estate in Rancho Santa Fe, California, Realtor.com reported. The 25-year old small forward shelled out $3.35 million for the mansion located just a few miles north of San Diego.
Hayward is just into his second year into his four-year, $63-million contract with the Jazz, who re-signed him after the 2013-2014 NBA season.
Hayward's new asset is an enormous 2.35 property that is highlighted by a 7,550-square-foot Spanish-style mansion. Inside, residents can prepare their meals in a rustic farmhouse kitchen that features marble countertops and reflect or spend some quiet time in a very spacious study ventilated by large windows.
Outside, families and visitors can spend their time playing tennis in a well-lit court or wash the stress down in a ritzy pool and spa that is surrounded by a tiled courtyard.
The Los Angeles Times shared that the mansion has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, a separate guest house, and detached servants' quarters. The masters' bedroom offers Hayward and his wife Robyn a great view of the mountains as well as his-and-hers bathrooms and dressing rooms.
The Rancho Santa Fe estate was listed on the market in May this year with an initial price tag of $3.595 million. It was previously sold back in 2001 for $2.75 million.
Hayward had a slow start as a professional basketball player. Entering the NBA in 2010, the former Butler College star only averaged 5.4 points per games in his first season, a far cry from his college average of 14.4 in every outing.
Hayward's contribution steadily increased after that. His figures last NBA season were impressive, centering on his current career-high average of 19.3 points per game, making him a reliable offensive piece for the Jazz.
