The home of 20th century star Lauren Bacall, where she lived for over 53 years, was sold with an asking price of $23.5 million.
Mystery buyers of the Bacall's Upper West Side pad located in Dakota are revealed to be Oaktree Capital managing director Ronald Beck and his wife, Cynthia, sources said according to Page Six.
The original asking price of the 4,000-square-foot apartment was $26 million but since it didn't get any buyers, the price was decreased cutting $2.5 million from the original price when the home was first listed on the market.
The apartment is facing the Central Park and has windows all around it to maximize the views around the area. Said abode was bought by Bacall back in 1961 between $28,000 and $48,000, according to Curbed. The actress lived in the house-sized apartment with three of her children and second husband Jason Robards until late 1960s when they divorced.
The classic and historical nine-room apartment includes three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms that features mahogany paneling. It also has five fireplaces with carved wood mantelpieces, 13-foot ceilings with plaster moldings, mahogany paneled window casings with integrated shutters for light and air modulation and original inlaid hardwood floors, Variety reported.
There are vintage looking wood work inside the house which manifests the old age of the structure. But despite being old, it looks very sophisticated and is still in well-shape.
Lauren Bacall, who is born as Betty Joan Perske, is considered a legendary American actress who was known for her distinctive voice and sultry looks. She started as a model before she was known as an actress. Her first film was "To Have and Have Not" in 1944 which was the start of her star image. She also worked alongside the famous Marilyn Monroe like the movie, "How to Marry a Millionaire." She died in 2014, a month before her 90th birthday due to stroke.
Meanwhile, the new owners of the house was noted to have listed an apartment in 2012 located on the nearby Beresford on Central Park West for $23 million. Aside from that, the couple also owns a home in Water Mill, Long Island.
