The 17-year old "Dancing with the Stars" participant, Bindi Irwin, is having a tough time in claiming her pay. As per the Celeb Dirty Laundry, Bindi Irwin needs to show proof that her father, Steve Irwin, is in fact deceased, before she would be able to claim her cash for her DWTS honorarium.
As per the reports, Bindi needs to have both her parents sign the contract as she is still a minor. She only has her mother to sign in the papers for her as her father, Steve, passed away in 2006 after being attacked by a deadly sting ray.
TMZ then explained that:
"Lawyers for the show submitted a minor's contract to an L.A. Superior Court judge ... it's required because Bindi is 17. Her mom Terri signed a form stating she gives up all rights to any money her daughter will make on the show. For some reason the judge wants the same release from Bindi's dad, the late Steve Irwin. The judge said without proof of Steve giving up his rights to Bindi's money, "the court is unable to find that it is in the best interest of the minor to be bound by the terms of the contract."
The website was able to have a list on how much Bindi earns all throughout her stay on "Dancing with the Stars."
- $125k guarantee
- weeks 3 and 4 she gets an additional $10k per week
- week 5 gets her another $15,000
- weeks 6 and 7 she gets $20k a week
- weeks 8 and 9 she gets $30k a week
The news website then added that if she's be able to make it to weeks 10 and 11 she would be able to cash in $50 thousand a week. Now that she's still around up until week 8, she currently has $230 thousand and it seems like she'll be sticking around for a few more weeks.
