Joseph Morgan's Klaus in 'The Originals" is by far one of the most compelling performances in the hit television series. Klaus can keep fans on tenterhook whenever he bares his soul or executes one of his evil plans.
In "The Originals" season 3, Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Klaus have been having fights, which started when the latter turned Haley in to a werewolf and killed Gia. It seemed that the older brother has turned his back on Klaus although they are sort of still working together for the sake of the Mikaelson family. After all, they vowed to be together, "always and forever."
According to Daniel Gillies, the dysfunction will probably remain because that is where the show revolves. Morgan's brilliant idea on how they would settle their differences? Kill each other in a swordfight, he shared to Entertainment Weekly. Admittedly, that would be a scene to behold.
In related news, there is a lot in store for Klaus in the coming episodes. He will face challenges of being a parent. Although he has gone to hell and back and fought all sort of demons in a thousand years, including running to the ends of the world to get away from his father and daggering his siblings, parenting is one thing he has never prepared about. Even with the help of Elijah and Hayley, it is still a big challenge considering the three of them did not have role model parents.
"The Originals" episode last night showed the return of Klaus' ex-girlfriend from hell. Executive Producer Michael Narducci warned, in a report by ET, that Aurora is the epitome of terror. She was the first woman who shattered Klau's heart a thousand years ago. Narducci said, "She slaughtered a monastery full of monks, dove off a cliff, poisoned the one prognosticating witch who was the key to deciphering the prophecy."
Apparently, it was Elijah who caused the break up of the two by performing a spell. "Interestingly enough," he added, "We've found out that there's a great sin from Elijah's past," Narducci added. "Maybe Elijah has stood by Klaus' side for all these centuries due to a sense of guilt for something that he did. Maybe the noble, beautiful, honorable Elijah has some flaws or chinks in his armor."
To summarize, "It is the most chilling, and the most romantic, and the most sexy, but the most horrifying ending we've ever done at the end of [an] episode. We get to see basically everyone we care about and everyone we love put in extreme situations of jeopardy," the showrunner said.
"The Originals" season 7airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
