‘Kingdom Hearts 3’ Gameplay & Update: New Screenshot Reveals Sora, Goofy, Donald Characters & More; Toy Story to be Featured in the Game?

Game developer Square Enix recently released screenshots for "Kingdom Hearts" upcoming titles such as "Kingdom Hearts 3," "Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD," and "Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep." The screenshots reveal popular characters like Goofy, Donald, and other Disney characters, a report from Gamespot said.

"The Kingdom Hearts 3 screenshot shows main characters Sora, Goofy and Donald riding on the Shooting Ride attraction, which many eagle-eyed Disney fans have pointed out resembles the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters ride at Disneyland. This has sparked speculation the game may include Toy Story content, such as a world dedicated to Pixar's beloved animated feature film. This has not been officially confirmed, however," the report said.

According to the report, the screenshots were taken from "Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD." It features various characters from the game series, which include Mickey, Kairi, Riku, and Roxas.

"Given its classic status, Toy Story has long been an IP that Kingdom Hearts fans have wanted to see in the game. Up until now, the franchise has largely focused on Disney's homegrown content, rather than that of companies the animation behemoth owns outright like Pixar," Gamerant said.

However, the report noted that it remains to be seen if the "Toy Story" contents which were revealed in the game's finished product will feature the summon ability.

"Indeed, if this is an indication that Square-Enix is being let loose on everything in the Disney wheelhouse, Kingdom Hearts III could well be the most varied instalment in the series to date," the report said.

Gamerant further reports that the decision of the developer to include "Toy Story" content will be lauded by fans. "With a Pixar reference like this included, it seems very likely that we'll see more of the California-based studio's output featured in the game - but we'll perhaps have to wait a little longer for more details."
