Rumors about a possible transfer of Derrick Rose to another team have been circulating in the basketball world for quite some time now. There were some recent speculations of Rose to be traded to LA Lakers in a multiple-player trade deal, involving Jordan Clarkson and Lou Williams. However, this speculation would only remain a speculation for the Lakers has no plan of trading their young core for a player whose playing history has been riddled with injury.
Despite the idea of a Bulls and Lakers trade being swept under the rug, fans and even experts are still speculating for an impending trade move affecting Rose. This said notion for a trade has been reported to be rooted from a growing rift of between the relationship of Chicago Bulls and Derrick Rose. There have been reports that Bulls and Rose are not on good terms especially concerning the years of injury standoffs. According to fansided, Brian Windhorst went on ESPN Radio stated that;
"The Derrick Rose breakup with the Bulls has begun," he said. "I don't know how long it's going to last. I don't know when it's going to be complete, but you can sort of see it. The team and the franchise have moved on to a little bit of a certain extent...His attitude has been not terrific. The comments that he made about his contract in 2017, you want to talk about being tone deaf?"
The said rift between Rose and Chicago Bulls have not reached the mainstream media, but such angle being speculated is somehow well-founded, especially that we have seen a decline on how Rose play the game. That's is why such idea of a trade is somehow logical and feasible, especially that Jimmy Butler is showing off his point-guard skills, somehow suggesting that he is ready to fill in Rose's shoe.
Now the question remains whether which team would be willing to make a trade. According to realgm via yibada, they postulated that Brooklyn Nets' Joe Johnson and Jarrett Jack could be traded for Derrick Rose. The said trade deal would actually be beneficial for both teams.
According to yibada, "They [Nets] have been trying to trade Joe Johnson for more than a year now. While they could also use the cap space, if the Nets would be realistic, they would realize that they would not have a shot at top free agents given the competitive market." They also believed that the addition of Joe Johnson and Jarrett Jack would complement the new Fred Hoiberg offense.
Even though the rumors may sound logical and well-founded, still facts and statements are yet to be released, so it would be better not to assume unless otherwise stated.
