BlizzCon is going to be jam-packed with major surprises. Not only will even goers be able to experience hands on play of Blizzard's latest games but the 2015 "Hearthstone" World Championship will be one of its major happenings.
But this year's 2015 "Hearthstone" World Championship will be different. The Hearthstone titleholders won't be the only professional players to participate in the online card duel but, the official Hearthstone blog has announced that two professional poker players will try their hand at "Hearthstone."
The two poker players will play an exhibition match in between the official championship games. The first exhibition match will be participated by Bertrand "ElkY" Grosspellier. Grosspellier is no stranger to e-sports. Prior to winning in the Triple Crown, European Poker Tour and bagging the winning titles in the World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour titles, Grosspellier was a professional StarCraft player, according to Polygon.
Grosspellier's contender will be Poker Hall of Famer Daniel Negreanu. Negreanu, on the other hand reportedly has won more poker tournaments that involved real money than anyone else on record.
This will be the first time that these poker players will play "Hearthstone". And over the weekend fans will learn if their poker skills would prove useful to online card game. According to Polygon, Grosspellier is more comfortable playing as a Warlock, while Negreanu would most likely choose to play as Mage. Their match will be streamed live through Twitch on Friday afternoon, Nov. 6
In another news, another exciting thing is happening to "Hearthstone" for a limited time. According to the "Hearthstone" blog, the upcoming "Tavern Brawl: Unite Against Mechazod" will let players play with another player against a malevolent mechanized malefactor, "Gearmaster Mechazod." Fans will learn more about Blizzards plans for this online trading card game over the weekend at BlizzCon at Anaheim Convention Center, 800 West Katella Avenue, Anaheim.
