Tyra Banks listed her Beverly Hills home on the market over a month ago with an asking price of $7.75 million. The supermodel turned reality television tycoon is now disposing her home and has slashed the asking price by more than 10 percent to $6.9 million.
The 'America's Next Top Model' creator, producer and host, purchased the 1926 Spanish Colonial house in June 2004 for $3,085,000. The details of the updated residence show that it has four bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms, as well as is filled with crate after crate of staged furnishings.
According to Variety, the multi-level property features two sides of a gated front courtyard with a tile fountain, including an oval foyer with travertine tile floor and wrought iron railed staircase, a sunken living room with soaring exposed wood ceilings, and a high-arched window flanked by vintage French doors. The house also features a library that overlooks the living room, an eat-in kitchen with elegant finishes and a walk-in pantry, a subterranean media lounge, and an arts and crafts room with built-in storage cabinetry.
On the upper floor are a couple of en suite guest/family bedrooms and a master bedroom overlooking the city view. In addition to the grassy courtyard, the residence has great features of outdoor recreation and entertainment areas, which include a tri-level terrace at the back of the house with an expensive outdoor kitchen on the uppermost level, a fire pit and built-in seating on the middle level, and a swimming pool and sunbathing patio tucked down on the lowest level.
The New York Daily News said that a decade after Tyra Banks bought the property for just $3.09 million, the supermodel listed her 1920s Beverly Hills home on the open market for $7.5 million. Now she has slashed the asking price by more than 10 percent to $6.9 million.
The supermodel hadn't been planning to unload her Spanish Colonial property in an area known as the Beverly Hills Post Office, until she stumbled upon a new house in the Malibu Hills through a friend and fell in love with it.
