"Castle" Season 8 is only three episodes left before the ABC police procedural drama's fall finale. There have been talks about the show's current season being its last, especially because the series left many fans disappointed when fan-favorite TV couple Castle and Beckett ultimately decided to breakup, leading to a drop in the show's ratings.

Showrunners Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter assured fans that this breakup is only temporary. As most fans and viewers know, Beckett decided to breakup with Castle for a good reason; however, Castle does not entirely have any idea why Beckett wanted to separate.

In an interview with TVLine, Hawley revealed that Beckett ultimately decided to breakup with Castle in order to protect him. The showrunner also noted on Beckett's recent stint on the series, wherein she left one of her tees for Castle.

"She wants him to remember her, so yes, she knows what she's doing."

The showrunner also hinted that Castle will ultimately get answers to the never-ending questions surrounding their separation during the show's midseason finale episode titled, "Mr. & Mrs. Castle." Castle will also get a word of advice from Adam Baldwin's character, Detective Slaughter.

Meanwhile, Carter Matt reported that Toks Olagundoye's character Hayley will be making a comeback in the Nov. 16 episode titled, "The Last Seduction." According to the outlet, a new teaser photo for "Castle" Season 8 showed Hayley and Beckett together at a spa.

"Castle" Season 8 airs every Monday on ABC.
