It's victory for Katy Perry and she must be 'Roaring' with joy. The pop crooner has reportedly managed to unload her Hollywood Hills home for $5.5 million, according to several news reports.
The 'Who You Love' singer took a considerable loss on her asking price, but we think she cut a neat deal on the sale, especially after the residence spent a little more than a year on the market. In December 2013, we reported the home had gotten a 'sale pending' sign on it. Just about a week later, the contract has gone through.
Perry was initially shopping around for a buyer privately, asking $8 million for the place. Even as she did hold it as a pocket listing, she price chopped a million off its cost. She then said she would accept any price around $6 million.
In April 2013, she listed it for $6.9 million before bringing the price down to $6.4 million by June. Perry was so desperate to sell that she declared that she would even go under the $6 million price bar. She finally managed to close in on $5.5 million.
Perry got the house as a part of her divorce deal, when she split with actor Russell Brand. Brand had transferred ownership of the home to Perry when they ended their 14-month marriage. Perry had purchased the place with Brand in 2011, but never lived in the residence.
According to the listing records, the home is a spacious 8855 square-feet residence comprising of seven bedrooms and seven full and four half bathrooms. The three-story home has dark-stained hardwood flooring, beamed wooden ceilings and large Palladian windows.
Living spaces include a large drawing room, a paneled dining room, a library, a gallery and a media lounge. The kitchen is a gourmet culinary place with modern fittings and fixtures. The place also has a breakfast area, a snack counter and a mid-rise island.
Outside, the home has a double story detached structure that has a three car garage upstairs and a quarter for maids along with a studio on the lower level. Another detached guest house and a swimming pool also exist on the property.

The couple partied away in Las Vegas to welcome 2014. While Mayer posted an adorable picture of Perry on Tumblr, Perry tweeted:
