"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" cast gathered together on the London premiere last Thursday, Nov. 5. Leading the cast was lead actress Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Katniss Everdeen in the series. While walking the red carpet, Lawrence shared an awkward moment with Natalie Dormer (Cressida) when she accidentally kissed her female co-star on the lips.
Lawrence stunned on the red carpet, wearing a printed, floor-length Christian Dior gown with exposed sides connected by gold straps. According to People, the 25-year-old actress walked past Dormer while the latter was being interviewed by reporters. Lawrence stopped and decided to greet Dormer with a kiss on the cheek, but Dormer turned around at the last second, resulting in a brief lip-on-lip contact.
The cameras caught their awkward kiss on tape, including their hilarious reaction right after.
"Oh my god, we just kissed on camera. And I liked it," Lawrence said.
The reporter mentioned that Dormer still had Lawrence's lipstick on her face, to which the actress jokingly replied, "I'll get Jennifer Lawrence off my face."
Dormer, who is on the cover of Women's Health for December, told the magazine that "Mockingjay Part 2" is going to be "epic."
"This is the fourth movie, it's the massive climax," the 33-year-old actress said. "We saw a little bit in Mocking Jay, Part 1, a little bit of the 'real world' out of the arena. In Mocking Jay, Part 2, you see a whole lot more. It's going to be epic, and I don't use that word lightly."
"Mockingjay Part 2" is the last installment of the "Hunger Games" series based on the best-selling trilogy by Suzanne Collins. Along with Lawrence, the movies also feature Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark.
As previously reported, the actors have gotten close with each other, and these last rounds of promotions must be bittersweet for them. During the London premiere, actor Sam Clafin, who plays Finnick Odair in the movies, commemorated the moment by taking a wacky group selfie and posting it on his Instagram account.
"This isn't goodbye, it's a see you soon," Claflin wrote on the caption, and added the hashtag "friends for life."
