‘Elementary’ Producer Reveals Cold Treatment Between Sherlock and His Father Morland in Season 4 [Spoilers]

"Elementary" Season 4 opener will find Sherlock meeting his father after being apart for more than a decade. It figures to be an icy exchange as father and son struggle to come to terms about their roles in each other's life.

In the upcoming pilot episode of "Elementary" Season 4, the show might as well have been shot in the Arctic as the atmosphere is colder than ice when Sherlock sees his father for the first time after years of being estranged.

In a report by TV Line, "Elementary" executive producer Rob Doherty sheds a light on what they were trying to go for as far as emotions go when father and son finally see each other after a very long time. "They've not seen each other in maybe 10 years, and at least at first, they fall back into bad habits. It's a very icy exchange. It's pretty clear that one doesn't like the other, and dad ultimately proposes they be bigger than this and focus on the real reason that he's come to New York, which is to make sure his son is OK," Doherty said.

In a post by Entertainment Weekly, the finale episode of season three showed Sherlock going into relapse but instead of following that scene up with predictable "struggling with drugs" theme, the premiere of Season 4 jumps to Sherlock being clean again and ready to work. But work he cannot immediately go back to as damage has been done and so he has to wait on the decision of the D.A.'s office on whether he will be charged with a crime or not.

Sherlock also meets Jonathan Bloom whom he suspects is the man who killed his wife as well as being responsible for other women's disappearance. Bloom admitted to murdering two women but tells Sherlock that he has nothing to do with his wife.
