Nate Berkus Teaming up with LG Electronics to Design Kitchen Appliances

What do LG and a kitchen remodel have in common (apart from the appliances obviously!)? Nate Berkus.

Yes, the famous interior decorator and talk show host has reportedly added another project to his kitty in 2014. The talented designer has joined hands with LG Electronics to design a new line of kitchen appliances for the LG Studio project, according to several news reports.

Berkus will apparently work closely with LG's Studio design team to "provide input on the premium product suite, particularly from a design perspective," according to a press statement.

LG announced the partnership at a press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014. Berkus will help the tech giant develop consumer friendly and design suave kitchen solutions that will give the company a foothold in the segment. He will also help design the LG Kitchen Suite, a complete and sophisticated kitchen that will include the company's signature Studio technology (premium stainless steel, distinctive door handles and knobs, LCD touch screen control panels and radiant interior LED lighting).

Speaking about the project, Berkus said at the conference:

"LG came to me because they share my deep commitment to living with what is well thought out and well designed, without sacrificing personality. Together we want to introduce products that will anchor the heart of the home, which is always the kitchen, as well as enhance the ease and style of how people live there."

Berkus also tweeted about the venture and urged followers to pour in ideas for the project.

LG is also pretty excited about the venture too.

"LG welcomes Nate Berkus to the LG Studio family to help advance our premium appliance design innovations. We're confident that this venture will help position LG Studio both as a beautiful addition to any premium kitchen and as a 'must-have' for entertaining with style," David VanderWaal, director of home appliance brand marketing, LG Electronics U.S. added in the statement.

Berkus started off his career with a small stint in the 'Oprah Winfrey Show'. However, the man's talents took him to great heights. He started running a talk show of his own and appeared on several prestigious publications like The Architectural Digest and Elle Decor.

Berkus is one creative man. The swanky Chicago headquarters of his company 'Nate Berkus Associates' was once a horse stable! Take a look at it, here.
