'Red Dead Redemption 2' Release Date & News: Game to Feature Multiplayer Mode & Huge Map of the Whole US?

Rumor has it that game developer Rockstar is planning to release a sequel for its popular video game, "Red Dead Redemption." Although the company did not make any formal announcement about the rumored game, speculations about "Red Dead Redemption 2" are heavily reported online. The latest claims that it will feature the whole map of U.S., a report from Cross Map said on Monday.

According to the report, "Red Dead Redemption" is one of the popular video games developed by Rockstar that has earned positive reviews coming from fans and die-hard gamers. With the game's resounding success, there's a growing clamor for a sequel, which is now dubbed the "Red Dead Redemption 2."

"We'll be able to see New York during those times, and it'll be great to have a whole concept of what the whole country used to be and how far we've come. When we think of the Old West and the beginning of the Industrial Revolution we get a concept that these two timeline are far apart when in reality the only difference is location, so if 'Red Dead Redemption 2' does this, we'll have a whole grasp of that," the report said.

It can be recalled that the "Red Dead Redemption" world setting was in the western part of the United States. In fact, Rockstar included nine states in the game, which are Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Rocky Mountains, Dakota and Mexico. The report suggests that the game's sequel will likely expand on the eastern part of the U.S.

"There were also recent reports saying that Rockstar is currently looking to hire a network programmer who specializes in a wide range of gameplay mechanics for an open world game. While the job ad did not specifically mention that the network programmer will be for a certain game, many believe that it is for 'Red Dead Redemption 2,' Master Herald said.

"The user, named AnonDN1978, revealed that 'Red Dead Redemption 2' was already in development for three and a half years already and the game will be ready for release in early 2016. Accordingly, immediately after releasing 'Red Dead Redemption' in 2011, Rockstar already buckled down to work on its sequel. The same source also said that the official title of the sequel to the 'Red Dead Redemption' is going to be 'Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West,'" the report said.
