Following their first win against the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers still has no room to celebrate their first win, especially that their seasoned star player Kobe Bryant is still having some shooting problems. In a total of five games now, it is an alarming statistical fact that the former MVP is only having 32.1 percent field-goal percentage, adding to it is his attempt of "7.6 shots from beyond the arc per game," said bleacherreport. As a result of Kobe's performance, it was reported that he told the media that he sucks right now with his game. Kobe told washigtonpost that;
"I just can't make a shot. Maybe, I'm just playing like (expletive) right now. Well if I make a damn shot, that would help. I suck right now ... I'm the 200th best player in the league right now, I freaking suck."
In relation to the Kobe not catching up his rhythm, another report surfaced claiming that this year would be the last year for the "Black Mamba." Bleacherreport stated that Kobe Bryant told his coach Byron Scott that, "This might be my last year." However, the message that Kobe has told his coach still has no certainty for Kobe's message in full context states that, "If you asked me today, this would be my last year. But you never know. We'll keep it open. Whatever happens, happens, said Kobe"
With regards to the comment that Kobe shared, NBC Sports' Kurt Helin, via Bleacherreport, also shared his not so sweet observation. Helin stated that;
"But whether he is going to retire, I believe him when he says he ultimately doesn't know yet. I've always been in the camp that this will be it for Kobe - if he's not going to chase a ring with another team, why would he put himself through all this physically to be part of a multi-year rebuilding process he will not be on the court to see the rewards from? Bottom line, he's getting too old for this... stuff."
Though there is no certainty with the retirement of Kobe, still it's too early to determine whether Kobe Bryant has truly lost his touch with the game. Guess we would just have watch Kobe and the Lakers continue their campaign.
