Dame Helen Mirren’s Hollywood Hills Rental Returns for $40,000 a Month

Dame Helen Mirren may be Hollywood Royalty but she definitely knows how to mint some money from unoccupied properties. The 'Debt' actress' Hollywood Hills home has returned to the rental market once again asking $40,000 a month.

Mirren's home had surfaced as a rental listing for the same price, at about the same time in 2013. The couple purchased the home in 1986 and has been leasing the home since 2007. The home is a very secure and private estate with lush gardens, which is why the property is being called "The Garden Estate" by various listing sites.

The home has some Hollywood history attached to it. It was once owned by famous actor Dustin Farnum.

Listing records at Realtor.com states that the residence is a 6999 square feet single family residence sitting on a 6.9 acre lot. The house comprises of five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Designed in Mediterranean style, the property boasts of an infinity pool, a detached guest house and separate servant quarters as well.

The listing description reads:

Discover the magnificent Mediterranean estate that once belonged to Dustin Farnum, Cecil B. DeMille's first great movie star...in a quiet parkland of 6 acres of trees and flowers. The principal residence at almost 7000' combines graceful floorplan with elegance and volume - each spacious room flowing into the next. The grand master suite looks out onto breathtakingly beautiful city views, terraces & pool. Double gated. secure. Incomparable.

Mirren hit it off big time playing the overtly sensuous Cora Ryan in the sixties hit movie "the Age of Consent". She received 'Damehood' from the Queen of Britain for her outstanding contribution to the Performing Arts in 2003.

With a scintillating career spanning over two decades, Mirren is one of those actors who has aged gracefully. She carries off everything with as much grace.

Last year, Mirren appeared at the BAFTAs sporting 'Pink Hair'. She had justified the color of her cropped mane to be 'characterizing' for a play and had asked reporters to "watch this space" (pointing at her head) for more. She suggested she would go green next.

Though she didn't go green on top, but it sure seems to be her favorite color this year. At the recent Golden Globe Awards that were held Jan.12, 2014, Mirren arrived in a beautiful green Jenny Packham gown matched with emerald earrings, reports The Huffington Post.

Mirren was nominated for "Best Actress in a Miniseries or TV Movie" for her work in "Phil Spector."
