The latest episode of "Doctor Who" shows an airplane getting blown out of the sky with a missile that upset millions of viewers of the show. Many of them cried foul in the wake of the Russian passenger plane that went down last week.
"Doctor Who" fans were not able to contain their emotions as they lashed on the show's producers for being insensitive to the tragedy that happened to a Russian commercial airplane last week. According to Mirror, the scene that irked many viewers who watched the show featured Clara being replaced by somebody who looks exactly like her. She then tries to get rid of the Doctor by bringing down the plane he was on. Instead of clapping their hands in excitement and the thrilling action sequence, fans of the show took to social media to let showrunners of "Doctor Who" have it for the wrong timing of the episode's airing.
One fan tweeted out to BBC, the network where the show is aired, that in the light of what happened to the Russian plane, it was a very insensitive thing to do to show an airplane being shot down. The fan also questioned whether for the show's producers, Russian lives matter or not.
In a report by Daily Mail, a representative of BBC said "Part two of the Zygon Invasion saw a duplicate Clara use a bazooka in an attempt to kill the Doctor on a plane. The episode was clearly signposted as science fiction set in a fantasy world and no one died in the scene."
The report also mentioned that the Airbus A321 that crashed in Egypt carrying 224 passengers occurred just 23 minutes into the scheduled Egypt to Russia flight. What really enraged many viewers of the episode is the fact that there is suspicion that terrorists have a hand in the tragedy.
