"The Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon laughed off his Harvard University accident that happened in late October plus a few more mishaps, during his latest Boston appearance on Nov. 7, Saturday.
According to People, the host-comedian went to Harvard to receive the Elmer Award for Excellence in Humor from the school's humor magazine, Harvard Lampoon. Just as he was celebrating the award, Fallon fell down and hurt his right hand after tripping on a bottle of Jägermeister.
Fallon is known for having the ability to create a pun even with his accidents. He made a hilarious remark regarding the Harvard accident at the 21st annual Comics Come Home event in Boston, saying: "I was just here two weeks [ago]. I had a great trip!"
"I stayed at a lovely hotel. You may have heard heard of it - Mass General?" the 41-year-old comedian added.
Fallon further jokingly explained about his injury. "I went to the ER and I said, 'I tripped holding a bottle of Jagermeister.' They said, 'Okay, we have a whole waiting room for people who trip and fall with Jagermeister.'"
His amusement continued while singing the 1997 hit song of Chumbawamba, "I fall down, but I get up again, you're never gonna keep me down," Fallon sang. "I take a vodka drink, and a Jager drink, and a Jager drink ... "
Jimmy Fallon himself knows he has standing on being prone to injury. After he stayed in intensive care for 10 days to treat his finger resulting from his fall in June, he had a two-week mandatory break from his show due to his surgery.
However, New York Post reported in August that Fallon's contract for "Tonight Show" has been extended by the network until 2021. "Jimmy Fallon is a highly valued member of the NBC family who is both a tireless worker and an extraordinarily gifted performer," a spokesperson said.
"His dedication in putting on a great show each and every night is unparalleled, and that is reflected in the large amount of viewers who tune in - he frequently out rates the broadcast competition combined. We are proud of his accomplishments on and off camera and look forward to working with him for many years to come," added by the speaker.
"The Tonight Show" host and comedian Jimmy Fallon also performed at TD Garden last Saturday together with Lenny Clarke, Ray Romano, and Louis C.K., for the benefit of Cam Neely Foundation for Cancer Care.
