Elegant costumes, accurate historical outfits, and the designer's challenge of matching the wardrobes, are all worth waiting for and to be seen in the Season 2 of "Outlander."
According to Vine Report, costume designer Terry Dresbach has revealed that intensive research has been done to make the outfits historically accurate because of the difference between 18th century Scotland and 18th century Paris.
Dresbach has said that the preparation for the costume had been meticulous and it always seemed that there was not enough time. So they just finished building 900 extras' costumes from scratch, and they are now repeating the exact same process, except that they have greater numbers. A costume that would have taken a week to build and finish now takes two weeks.
When cast members of the "Outlander" were seen filming in Prague, the location being the Paris of the 1740s, fans got a glimpse of the new clothing they used.
Link Is news said that the series, based on the novel written by Diana Gabaldon, has some scenes this Season 2 which are not in the novel, like the rape scene in the previous season of "Outlander."
The additional rape scene in Season 2 is between Black Jack Randall (played by Tobias Menzies) and Jamie (played by Sam Heughan). The brutal encounter started by Black Jack shocked many viewers, but according to the author, it will be explained in the upcoming season.
Author Gabaldon said in an interview with Radio Times that, "It occurs as a very integral part of the plot. They filmed those scenes pretty much straight out of the book - the scenes in the prison and so forth."
Gabaldon added that the rape scene was crucial for the story and that it was different from other rape scenes.
Meanwhile, Brianna Randall, Jamie and Claire's daughter, is reported to be part of the series. Balfe will be seeing her father while travelling through time. Movie News Guide also reported that the said scene will be incorporated on "Outlander" Season 2.
"Outlander" Season 2 is slated to premiere on March 2016 on Starz.
