Martha Hunt is one lucky angel, as she was chosen to be winged with one of Victoria Secret Fashion Show's highest honors.
The 26-year-old model has been chosen as one of the ten new angels in the upcoming high fashion lingerie show, and she is said to sport the second to the most glamorous costumes in the Victoria Secret collection. The lingerie is a Swarovski corset filled with 90,000 gold, red, blue and emerald crystal beads and pendants, crafted by Parisian couturier Sarkan Cura. Her wings weigh 19 pounds and contain 20,000 crystals, 130 feet of LED lights, and 1,200 individual lights.
Cura shares the tedious design process of making such lingerie, "I know [in advance] who will wear each look. I take all the measurements, I make all the composites. It's why you can see that everything fits perfectly, and the Swarovski crystals won't hurt [the models'] skin...Everything is perfectly done. We gave so much energy and passion into each look."
When asked how she feels about her fabulous corset, Martha tells Us Weekly, "I was feeling very Beyonce-inspired when I put [my costume] on, because it [creates] a perfect hourglass, " she gushes. "So gorgeous. I'm so lucky!"
VS fans are also anticipating to see Lily Aldridge wearing the prestigious Fantasy Bra, considered as the top honor in the show. She, and fellow veteran angels Adriana Lima, Behati Prinsloo and Candice Swanepoel, all of whom were already chosen to wear the most sought after costume in the past, will grace the runway again this December. Newbies and BFFs Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner are also set to walk in the fashion show.
Performing at the VS will be Selena Gomez, The Weeknd and Ellie Goulding. It was previously reported that Rihanna was supposed to be at the lingerie show but had to cancel because of her upcoming album.
