Australian singer-songwriter Sia has finally released her new music video for "Alive," which features nine-year-old young martial artist Mahiro Takana.
In September, Sia released the first single in her new album, "This is Acting." Following her new single, she now has the latest music video "Alive" with a black belter karate kid showcasing her skills in interpretative dance moves. Takana blew off her punches and kicks artistically in rhyme with Sia's song. Her flair was shown dramatically in the music video.
The young martial artist was flaunting the Yin-Yang wig with a half-black and half platinum blonde shade similar to "This is Acting" album cover design. Takana also made an intense gaze showing her valor physique throughout her presence inside the "minimal furnished concrete room" where they shot most of the music video scenes.
Billboard reported that "Alive" was initially offered to Adele and was also co-written by the singer with Tobias Jesso Jr. However, according to RTV Slovenija report, Sia mentioned that in the last minute, Adele did not accept the track. Other reports said it was also offered to Rihanna.
Sia eventually made the track herself and included it in her latest album. "It's about [Adele's] life, so I now sing a song from [Adele's] perspective," she told the outlet.
The emotional lyrics of the song "Alive" and the powerful voice of Sia complement the strong movements presented by Takana. The young martial artist's slice and dice actions will probably place Sia straight to Billboard's Top Charts.
It can be recalled that in her previous music videos, Sia featured Maddie Ziegler, who reportedly helped Sia's songs become popular in the charts. The "Dance Moms" star has appeared in Sia's music videos for two of her hit songs, "Chandelier" and "Elastic Heart." According to Tech Times, the "camera-shy" singer preferred "not to show her own face" and placed the young girl dancer instead in the spotlight.
Now Sia has chosen another young talented girl to feature in her music video. Takana, who has outstanding martial arts skills, is chosen to be the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics Karate Ambassador.
