'One-Punch Man' Episode 6 Review: Hero Association Adds Excitement to the Plot; Roller Coaster Rating From Critics

"One-Punch Man" episode 6 has been recently aired, and things are not as impressive as its previous episodes. Though the ratings of the critics for this episode are fair, it appears that the anime series of One and Yusuke Murata gets some sort of roller coaster rating every week.

Fandom Post gives its rating for this week episode of "One-Punch Man." To deliver it bluntly, the online magazine gives episode 6 a rating of "A-," which is of course not bad.

According to the critic of the online magazine, "One-Punch Man" episode 6 maintains the fun premise yet it appears to have limited potential. The concept of "Hero Association" comes out pretty obvious inclusion, which as suspected may not give bigger contribution as far as the essence of the anime is concerned.

Yet on the contrary, the critic gives another probable thought, stating that "for as mundane as Saitama's entry to the Association was, it actually opened up a whole new world for One Punch Man, one far more expansive than one would likely guess from the series from its first few episodes."

Nevertheless, this is one strategy that is very common especially for "long-running shounen action manga." It is also noted that "One-Punch Man" puts in its "own unique sense of humor into everything it does, making it all immensely fun even for viewers who may be jaded from seeing so many simple premises get bogged down by introducing too many characters, taking too long to accomplish what used to happen so briskly, or forgetting what made a series so fun and unique in its earlier and more creative days."

But then again, with "One-Punch Man", it is with much confidence that this kind of narrative will only last for a little while. So, in a capsule, what this critic is saying is that, this anime series is not "as simple as it seems." The Hero Association is also not also "a one-off gag, but rather the source of massive plot potential from now on." This might get an eye-rolling from other fans, but it can also be forgiven because it is executed subtly and gives "excitement at the possibilities."

If Fandom Post gives "One-Punch Man" episode 6 an "A-" rating, Anime News Network gives this episode "B+." ANN says that it is a classic "shaggy dog story." Though "The Terrifying City" episode is undoubtedly amusing, but it still feels like being cheated.

The critic from ANN prefers to "see more wacky energy or focused direction over this meandering middle ground." Be that as it may, the only thing that one could positively say in episode 6 of "One-Punch Man" is that it has amused its viewers by its humor and it maintains a handsome animation.
