TAG Heuer officially released its first smartwatch on Nov. 9 in New York -- the TAG Heuer Connected.
"If you've been waiting for a legitimately luxurious Android Wear watch, you've finally got one to throw your money at," Wired wrote.
At $1,500, TAG Heuer Connected looks like a classic watch, which is exactly what TAG Heuer CEO Jean-Claude Biver wanted in the first place, as per Forbes report.
The luxury smartwatch from the Swiss watchmaker is powered by 1.6GHz dual core Intel processor and runs on Android Wear OS. It is compatible with Android 4.3 and above and iOS 8.2 and above.
It has a Carrera-inspired design. Its titanium grade 2 case has a diameter of 46mm and thickness of 12.8mm. It weighs 52gm. "TAG Heuer Connected" lettering is engraved in the case with silver lacquer. The Connected watch has a horizontal and vertical fine-brushed titanium lugs and 3D-raised and fine-brushed numerals. Its bezel is carbide-coated with titanium. Its bracelet is a vulcanized rubber and there are seven colors to choose from.
TAG Heuer Connected has a scratch-proof sapphire crystal screen, with a resolution of 360 x 360 and pixel density of 240ppi. It has a 1.5-inch fully circular transflective LTPS LCD display, which is always on, giving the watch a traditional look. And then it has a Touch on Display screen to allow users to access a wide range of options. It also supports multiple finger recognition. Its screen is the reason Forbes think "TAG Heuer Connected is one of the first smartwatches that feels like it has a soul."
The smartwatch has a 410mAh battery which can last at least 25 hours under normal usage. Its main memory is 1GB and storage memory of 4GB. It has gyroscope, tilt detection sensor, microphone and haptic engine.
The timepiece has a two years warranty, after which the user can pay an extra $1,500 and trade the watch with a classic Carrera watch priced at around $3,000, said GSM Arena.
