Daft Punk, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Lorde were among the winners of the 2014 Grammy Awards, which featured performances by Beyonce and Taylor Swift, among others.
The helmet-donning French duo took home album of the year for their album "Random Access Memories," beating out Sara Bereilles' "The Blessed Unrest," Kendrick Lamar's "Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City," Mackelmore & Ryan Lewis' "The Heist" and Taylor Swift's "Red."
The electronic group also took home record of the year along with Pharrell Williams for "Get Lucky." Other nominations for this category included Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive," Lorde's "Royals," Bruno Mars' "Locked Out of Heaven" and Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines," which also featured Pharrell Williams, as well as T.I.
Lorde beat out Pink, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis for song of the year, which she won for "Royals," while the "Thrift Shop" duo took home best new artist in addition to best rap album, beating out Kanye West's "Yeezus" and Jay Z's "Magna Carta... Holy Grail" for the latter.
Paul McCartney, who was joined onstage by former Beatles band member Ringo Starr, won best rock song for "Cut Me Some Slack," Led Zeppelin best rock album for "Celebration Day" and Imagine Dragons best rock performance for "Radioactive."
Taylor Swift took backseat this year to Kacey Musgraves, who won both best country song and best country album.
Meanwhile, best R&B album went to Alicia Keys for "Girl on Fire," best urban contemporary album to Rihanna for "Unapologetic" and best song written for visual media to Adele for "Skyfall."
This year's award ceremony broke ground when Madonna joined in Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Mary Lambert's performance of "Same Love," while Queen Latifah officiated the weddings of 33 couples. Among them was Ryan Lewis' sister Laura.
