NBA Trade Rumors: An Update on Derrick Rose and the Unwavering Trade Scenarios

With his 29 points output last game against the Kevin Durant and the rest of the Thunders, it seems like Derrick Rose is in the path of redeeming himself and recreating his previous glory days. Hailed as the 2010-2011 league's MVP, Rose used to have an averages of 20.2 points over the previous years. He was also "the league's youngest MVP and the seventh player in NBA history to average at least 25.0 points," said NBA.

However, all the accolades and record breaking court performances of Rose were thwarted by series of injuries. Over the past three seasons, the Chicago Bulls was not able to maximize their contract with Derrick Rose, for the player was only able to play a total of 100 games while averaging only at least 18.4 points per game, according to yibada. And in his first six games in this 2015-2016 NBA season, Bull's star player only averaged 13.3 points. As a result of the said series of injuries and considerable game decline, series of speculations about a possible trade for Rose surfaced the internet like wild fire.

Perhaps the most notable one to have first caught the people's attention prior to this season is the rumor of Rose being traded to Lakers. The said rumor involved a multi-player deal in exchange for Clarkson and Lou Williams. And of course this supposed deal never materialized for Lakers will not give up their young core in exchange for a player who is riddled with injury almost half of his NBA Career.

Aside from the Lakers, another rumor surfaced discussing Rose's possible transfer to Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Joe Johnson. Aside from the exchange it was also reported in passing that Fred Hoiberg is honing new talents for his kind of play. In addition to such rumor, a rift between Bulls and Rose also surfaced saying that the Bulls is not happy with the injuries that their star player has been encountering. Brian Windhorst went on ESPN Radio saying that, "The Derrick Rose breakup with the Bulls has begun. The team and the franchise have moved on to a little bit of a certain extent...His attitude has been not terrific."

To somehow add up to the series of rumors discussing Derrick Rose's possible transfer from Chicago, another speculation of Rose transferring to Philadelphia 76ers came to fore. According to reports, the lack of star point-guard of the team since Iverson's era could actually push them to acquire Derrick Rose. Thus "adding Rose to the young core of Nerlens Noel, Jahlil Okafor, and Nik Stauskas could bring Philadelphia back into the NBA map," said yibada. Realgm also cited that in this possible trade scenario, players Joel Embiid and Carl Landry could possibly go to Bulls in exchange for Rose.

With this new rumor brewing on the sidelines, it seems like Rose should make double effort to satisfy his team and the fans. For if the campaign of the Bulls would not be great at the end of the season, then there would be a great chance for these rumors to come true. But still we better not assume too much unless otherwise stated.
