Did Daniel Craig Crown One Direction's Niall Horan as the Next James Bond?

Fresh from the success of "Spectre," Daniel Craig, a.k.a. Mr. James Bond, has yet to announce if he will star in the next installment of the franchise. In a recent interview with Capital FM, Craig said that someone younger could be the next British spy, and he named One Direction's Niall Horan as a possible candidate.

Craig called Horan as a "good guy," and said that if the Irish boyband popstar would nab the role, it would be "fabulous."

People reported that the 22-year-old Horan has previously expressed his interest in the role. With One Direction taking a long hiatus, could the singer-songwriter be delving into acting soon?

Though Craig said this in jest, he gave an advice to the would-be 007. "Just enjoy it and make it the best you can," the actor said in the interview. "That's all I've ever tried to do with these films is just make the movies as memorable as possible. Should I make another one or not, I'm proud of the four I've made."

Craig has previously hinted his retirement from the role, telling Time Out that he'd "rather slit his wrists" than do another Bond film. "Spectre" is Craig's fourth time to play the role of the suave spy. It has since racked up more than $200 million since its release last Oct. 26.

Despite Craig's public hesitations, "Spectre" producer Michael G. Wilson believes the actor will be coming back for at least another installment. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Wilson said, "I think we've got Daniel Craig."

Craig has yet to make an official confirmation. But whoever is next tapped to play the famous secret agent will be taking a monumental project, as the next James Bond film will be the franchise's 25th outing.
