After being on a hiatus for a week, "Empire" Season 2 is back, and there will be more family drama than ever.
According to International Business Times, as the Lyon family experiences more drama, they might soon discover a spy inside the Lyon Dynasty, and it turns out that Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) is sleeping with him. In the new episode, it was revealed that Cookie will try to get the company involved in a huge charity concert which will be broadcast on television. However, what Cookie doesn't know is that she is actually sleeping with the enemy. It turns out her new love interest, concert promoter Laz Delgado (Adam Rodriguez), may not be who he says he is.
In episode 6, when Laz and Cookie hooked up, a scene revealed that Laz has the same tattoo as the one on the backs of Hakeem's (Bryshere Y. Gray) kidnappers. In the new promotional video for episode 7, it is evident that Hakeem does not trust his mother's new boyfriend. In another scene, Laz is seen talking to one of the men who abducted Hakeem, telling the kidnapper that he needs to focus on their business than Cookie.
Meanwhile, Christian Post reports that after being kidnapped, Hakeem will start to forget his traumatic experience and will be back to work. According to the synopsis, Hakeem will be helping Laura (Jamila Velazquez) become a huge star.
Elsewhere, Lucious (Terrence Howard) will continue to look for ways to make his company the biggest in the world as he builds a partnership with the founder of a streaming company named Jago (Patrick Mulvey). Jamal (Jussie Smollett) will also continue to work on making new music with Lucious; however, it was reported that he really wants to work with Cookie again. In another video, Jamal can be seen sneaking a track to Cookie for her to produce for him.
