'Jane the Virgin' Monday Night Spoilers: Boss and Executive Producer Explains Love Triangle Jumps Onward in Time

Executive producer Jennie Urman reveals that the love triangle in "Jane the Virgin" is taking a break as the show skips forward in time. In an interview, Urman felt like that was an option that Jane made.

According to TV Line, part of Jane's big arc is that she has a child and her choices are just about what she thinks her child needs and what is best for him. Jane is in this love triangle and she has to make a choice fairly early. Jane needs to see what else has been in the Rafael or Jane or Michael of it all. There are going to be twists and bumps along the way.

In the upcoming episodes, it's not about Michael against Rafael for Jane anymore as she has already picked Michael. Each act in the next episode is in a really different month, which is something that couldn't be done between seasons because it is left with such a cliffhanger. Obviously, Michael and Rafael are in her life in changing capacities.

Because Jane has already made a choice, she needs to take a little break and figure out how to move on. That's a big part of the next episode, how long things will take and how quickly time will go.

Entertainment Weekly also said the love triangle between a pregnant virgin, her detective ex-boyfriend and her millionaire baby daddy - seems to head towards a heart-stopping halt with the announcement that Jane the Virgin's character will finally walk down the aisle.

Though Urman refuses to reveal who is going to emerge the victor between Michael (played by Brett Dier) and Rafael (played by Justin Baldoni) in telenovela style, there's a slight possibility that someone entirely new might enter the picture. "There's a big development," showrunner Urman teases.

Urman explains that Jane's story will be how one becomes a mother and accomplish the things she wants to do, especially a young woman who hadn't planned to have a child so quickly.
