‘Clash of Clans’ Updates: Supercell's First Sneak Peek of COC Is All about the Shields

The two-week sneak peek promised by Clash of Clans' game developer Supercell has officially begun on Nov. 23, Monday. The first part focuses on the shields that have something to do with attack and defense.

Supercell announced the part one of the two-week sneak peek in an internet forum. "Improving the shield system is a complex and delicate job, so coming update includes a broad package of changes designed to make village defense fairer, play sessions more flexible, and attacking more encouraged," the COC developer stated.

Complete details on how the shields are changing and how these changes are going to affect the players will be posted by the company from time to time. However, it is important for COC players to note these two headline items:

- Destroying a Town Hall will no longer give players a shield; Town Halls should be brought inside.

- Attacking while shielded will no longer break the entire shield. Instead, it will cost players a bit of shield time.

The abovementioned changes will make it possible for players to attack, acquire a shield, and then attack two or three times without losing all of their shield. Moreover, changes on how to get a shield are as follows:

- A 12-hour shield is granted at 30% destruction

- A 14-hour shield is granted at 60% destruction

- A 16-hour shield is granted at 90% destruction

- However, NO SHIELD is granted if the attacker does not deploy at least 50% of a full army

In fact, being shielded will no longer prevent players to enter multiplayer matchmaking, browse targets or attempt revenge. Doing so while shielded will deduct three hours from the player's remaining shield time. Amount of time deducted will increase if more attacks are executed (4 hours, 5 hours, etc.).

There are a lot more changes coming soon which include the new Village Guard and rebalanced loot and Trophy offers. Discussions about how Supercell came up with these updates are written in the said forum.
