It has been awhile already since the rumors made rounds that Sean Carrigan's character as Dr. Ben "Stitch" Rayburn will be killed off on "The Young and The Restless" and therefore, the actor will exit the show.
Yesterday, Sean took to Twitter to share the good news to Y&R fans that he was not fired and that Stitch survives and will still be staying in Genoa City.
Carrigan wrote, "Hey everybody... Happy to say... Stitch survives and is staying in Genoa City for awhile :):)."
However, there is a catch in Sean's tweet since he mentioned that "Stitch is staying in Genoa City for AWHILE." What does he mean by "awhile?" Is he leaving the soap eventually? Sean Carrigan reportedly has not renewed his contract with the soap.
According to Soap Opera Spy, "The Young and The Restless" spoilers have been teasing about the rumors that Sean will be leaving Y&R since summer. The writers of the show reportedly felt that there is no need for Stitch's storylines to continue.
To add more to that, spoilers also teased about a big catastrophe that is bound to happen in Genoa City. That prompted the rumors that a "major male character" will be killed off during the November sweeps.
Celebrity Dirty Laundry said that fans were said to be devastated with the news. It was previously reported that during the Halloween Gala, Stitch and Ashley were left on spot as they get to discussed their feelings for each other when an explosion happened which left both of them unconscious. Stitch was earlier speculated to die in the fire.
As per Soap Central, the tragic Halloween gala resulted in Ian, Patty and Christian's presumed death. Billy Abbott was also badly wounded, which opened the opportunity for a recast now that Burgess Jenkins has confirmed his exit.
