According to Rolling Stone, the sultry singer's take on Johnston's hit was promoted in the trailer for "Hi, How Are You Daniel Johnston?" a short film by Gabriel Sunday. Lana's version will be available for streaming tomorrow. For now you can watch the trailer and get a sneak peak at Lana's cover.
As the Rolling Stone puts it, the short motion picture is a "psychedelic film about an aging musician coming to terms with the dreams of yesteryear."
But even before doing the cover of the indie song, Lana Del Rey has been already been involved with the short film. According to Fader, the 30-year-old songbird reportedly donated $10,000 to the Kickstarter campaign for the Gabriel Sunday's upcoming short film. The film features the iconic music maker having a conversation with his younger self
It has been reported that rapper Mac Miller also donated $10,000 to the Kickstarter, this in turn makes both the rapper and Del Rey executive producers. The campaign was able to rake in $75,000 and "Hi, How Are You Daniel Johnston?" will be released on-demand from Nov 13.
Lana Del Rey, the beautiful American singer, is known for her retro fashion looks and her soulful throwback singing style.
