Bethenny Frankel is moving out of the apartment she has been sharing with her ex Jason Hoppy in an attempt to avoid any awkward run-ins between him and her new boyfriend, Michael Cerussi, a source told US Weekly.
"The Real Housewives Of New York" star and Hoppy, 42, split more than a year ago, but only now is Frankel, 44, leaving the $4.9 million Tribeca condominium in a move that she hopes will help give her more alone time with her 3-year-old daughter Bryn, who she shares custody with her estranged husband.
The two bought the $5 million, 3,400-square-foot luxury apartment shortly after their wedding in 2010, which was filmed for the reality TV special "Bethenny Ever After." In an interview with Traditional Home, Frankel said she remodeled the place based on a collection of ideas she put together more than a decade before.
The redesign of the three-bedroom, three-bathroom home was played out as well on the Bravo reality show, giving fans not only a look into the finished product, but the process.
Leading the project were New York mother-daughter duo Mariette Himes and Brooke Gomez.
"They are very high-end. I think I may have taken them out of their comfort zone!" Frankel told Traditional Home.
The finished product included everything from designer fabrics and custom wallpapers to Ikea furniture. The crown jewel? The master closet, with enough shelves to fit a shoe collection that would make Marie Antoinette blush.
"I wanted a closet like this my whole life, and finally, I don't have to shove things under the bed," she explained.
No doubt the separation was a difficult one.
According to US Weekly, Frankel has offered Hoppy, a former trainer, millions to settle, but he has "asked for quadruple."
